BELAGAVI (Belgaum): Belagavi City Corporation (BCC) has chalked out larger plan to provide housing facility to all those living in slums and families of below poverty line and low income groups living in city under ‘housing for all’ scheme clubbing the various central and state government run housing schemes.

Belagavi (Belgaum): The increased inflows from the catchment areas into the Krishna river course and its tributaries, including Doodhganga, have rendered large tracts of agricultural fields water-logged and damaged standing crops, Deputy Commissioner N. Jayaram has said. He added that the extent of loss to growers would be assessed once the water levels in the fields receded.

Tahsildar awaiting report to take action against illegal resort near sanctuary

Belagavi (Belgaum): The Office of the Khanapur Tahsildar is yet to conduct a proper inquiry, let alone take appropriate action against a resort stated to be operating without proper permission near Chikhale village of Khanapur taluk in Belagavi district, within the Kanakumbi Territorial Range of Belagavi Forest Division, and about 1 km away from the boundary of the Bhimgad Wildlife Sanctuary.

The resort is reportedly continuing with its commercial operations despite being served notices by the Forest Department.
